“We are calling for a European strategy that makes Europe less exposed to certain risks and contingencies,” said Italy’s Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, speaking on the sidelines of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council in Brussels. The minister stressed the need for a coordinated EU approach to strengthen supply security. He also that Europe should move faster on concrete measures that support farmers and industry, so the sector is better prepared for global disruptions that can drive up input costs and squeeze producers.
