“It is necessary that energy, too, is considered like defence and security for the continent,” said Adolfo Urso, Italy’s Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, speaking upon his arrival at the EU Competitiveness Council in Brussels.
Urso referred to Italy’s request for greater flexibility under the EU Stability Pact to finance energy-related measures. He also underlined that the war is weighing on energy prices and on companies’ production costs, calling for EU rules that reflect the scale and urgency of the challenge.
