The European Parliament has approved the reform of the regulation on air passenger rights. The amendments to the text, agreed with the Council of the EU in the Conciliation Committee, were approved by an overwhelming majority, with 646 votes in favour, 12 against and 3 abstentions. The new legislation updates the rules in force since 2004, rejecting attempts to weaken existing protections and introducing faster compensation procedures, greater transparency on baggage, and stronger guarantees for families and vulnerable groups.
