The Commission’s proposal falls short in this regard as well. The issue is ensuring that food production is less expensive for farmers, and in this regard, the Commission’s proposal could have done more to help farmers at present.” This was stated by Camilla Laureti, member of the European Parliament for the Democratic Party, regarding the farmers’ protests outside the European Parliament in Strasbourg calling for the suspension of the CBAM on fertilizers.
