“We want to export the Lombardy and Italian models here to the European Parliament,” said Isabella Tovaglieri, Member of the European Parliament in the Patriots for Europe group, during a meeting on the new European regulation on the welfare, traceability, and safety of dogs and cats. The press conference on the regulation concerning the welfare and traceability of dogs and cats was titled “Welfare, Traceability and Safety: The Italian Model in the European Debate.” Tovaglieri explained that the upcoming plenary session will address the regulation on the welfare of companion animals in its second reading, to introduce harmonized rules across the European Union. The event was attended by Senator Manfredi Potenti, Lombardy Regional Councillor Riccardo Pase, ENCI President Dino Muto, and members of ANCI.
